Mega furniture auctions create a mega hype
When an auctioneering firm receives an instruction to sell over 1000 assets with a strict deadline over December, nothing is easy about it. When the business has a history of 31 years, as one of the biggest family-run pine wholesalers in the Garden Route, the pressure vests further on the auctioneer and his team.
Van Rensburgs Auctions is proud that the Trustees of the van der Laan Family Trust had entrusted the firm to conduct the closing down auctions of both Deco Den Pine Furniture Shop and AV Products on the 4th and 8th of December 2018 respectively. Over 1000 items were auctioned, taking over 11 hours in total. Items included ample household pine and cane furniture, mattresses, foam, upholstery and even the delivery vehicles.
The auctions rendered interest from all over the Southern Cape and were extremely well attended.
Auctioneer, Louis van Rensburg, commented enthusiastically that “110 registered bidders took part in the Deco Den auction, and at AV Products 140 buyers registered to bid. This is a record amount of attendees at a furniture auction for our firm”
“It was indeed a pleasurable experience to deal with real professionals in the business of Auctions, their attention to detail and the auction decorum is testimony to the commitment they have for their customers,” says Tony Stokes, Business and Property Management Consultant on behalf of the Trustees.
The Deco Den property, situated on the corner of York and Albert Street has consequently been sold by private treaty, however the AV Products warehouse behind BMW in Glaze Street is still on the market and Ann Spies at van Rensburgs can be contacted for more information at 044 878 2877.
The auctioneers would like to thank the Trustees and the Business Consultant for the opportunity to conduct these mega auctions.
