A constant water supply from 2 springs originating in the Witberg and 5 storage dams with a combined holding capacity of 560,000m³.
The farm is registered with the Hoeko Irrigation Board which is operated as a quota scheme with time share shifts. The farm has 2 turns:
• 42 hour water turn/shitf every week from Sunday 18:00 until 12:00 on Tuesday from the first fountain; and
• 72 hour water turn/shift every second week from “Oom Daantjie’s trough” Mondays from 17:00 until 17:00 on Thursdays.
• Surplus water during these periods are stored in the holding dams.
• 15,4ha enlisted water rights
An additional borehole was drilled in 2022 in the midst of one of the biggest droughts the Klein Karoo has experienced in years, but is still unused as there has been no water shortage since then. The borehole is an artesian hole which means it runs from the top at 12 000ℓ per day, but it has been tested to deliver 27 000ℓ per hour for pumping purposes.
Irrigation System
±90% of the 32ha cultivated land is gravity-fed with drip irrigation.
